If you open any book that gives medical advice about acne, almost all of them will tell you that a diet does not affect acne. There is a lot of emphasis and authority that a diet will not affect acne. This is, however, a LIE. Believe it or not, diet affects your acne. If you really trust those books, let me tell you that, all these people who purchased those book still have acne TODAY.

With regards to that, the prevailing wisdom of the various types of foods has no effect on acne. Firstly, we have to understand that acne has the effect on the largest organ of the body – the skin. Not all traditional therapies are scams. An effective form of traditional treatment with very few side effects includes cryotherapy – which is also the process of the targeted freezing of the skin.

Dermatologists either apply dry ice onto the skin or apply liquid nitrogen directly to the acne lesions. The disadvantage is that to ensure there is optimum effectiveness, cryotherapy should be administered daily. This treatment is therefore impractical for just an average patient seeking a cure.

Anther acne treatment is a procedure which is medically known as acne surgery. The dermatologist uses a small instrument that presses down upon the acne lesion, which forces out the impaction. This treatment must be done regularly. Most insurance companies do not cover this mode of treatment, so it is not very popular. Currently, with the rising issues of metrosexuality, we can safely assume that there are many more males seeking acne treatment. Adult skin is much more different than teenager skin, which clearly explains the reason why adolescent acne treatment do not work for adults who are suffering from acne!

The medical world is constantly coming up with new methods to treat adult acne. Besides, we have to remember that nearly everybody’s skin is different, which means that each acne treatment for each type of skin has to be thoroughly tested.
